I was compelled by Scott Hanselman’s Every Developer Needs a Blog presentation. Scott made too much sense. I know, as a programmer, that Google is the first place I go when I have a programming dilemma. I’m also certain that, in my near decade of experience as a developer, I’ve encountered problems whose solutions would have been worth sharing with the development community.
Plus, I’m currently working on a project to rewrite a dated VB/SOAP-based application in ASP.NET MVC. I view it as fairly cutting edge project and something a lot of other developers will be doing over the next several years. So I should have more material than usual to work with.
I also like the thought of this blog being a professional journal of sorts and having a way to look back at my career. Of course, having a way for future employers to look at my career ain’t bad either.
And so this begins with this first post. (whatever this is)
